Iridescent Nails

Iridescent Nails

Despite my conscious efforts to try to pick out a nail color that’s not in the family of pinks, I usually still gravitate towards the more neutral shades. Though I’m loving the “ugly” nail polish trend that trends to consists of happy yellows, sage greens, and earthy browns, I have a hard time committing to a nail color if I think it’ll only be on-trend for a few months.

Thus, shoved into the furtherest corners of the drug store shelf, I picked out this white iridescent Essie nail polish (Color: #1653 Twinkle in Time) in hopes that it would be just shimmery enough to be a nice break from my usual shades of pink.

Surprisingly, it only takes a couple of coats to get a nice opaque finish on my nails. Typically, Essie nail polishes are very sheer (almost too sheer), but this shade is relatively more concentrated than other color’s I’ve tried. After topping with clear Sally Hansen nail polish, the result is a very pretty, almost butterfly-like iridescent shimmer. Not too bad for an at-home mani.

What’s your go-to nail polish brand or color? I’m also interested in supporting clean beauty nail polish brands as well. If you have suggestions, let me know in the comments section down below!
