Beauty: Blue Crush

Beauty: Blue Crush

Blue eye makeup has always been iconic from Princess Diana’s blue eyeliner to 90’s it-girls frosty blue shadow. As much as I love a bold eye beauty look, I don’t usually wear eyeshadow. When applying eye makeup, I usually just use my fingers to blend the pigments onto my eyelids. For this look, I used a few different shades of blue eyeshadow from MAC. To make the lines as clean as possible, I applied tape along the ends of each eye to create a sharp cat-eye line.

The iridescent color blue reminds me of the mythical mermaid aesthetic. Pearly tones, aquatic textures, and organic shapes all started to come together to inspire this look. For my hair, I decided to try the wet hair look similar to Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala red carpet look in 2019. In the past, I’ve used coconut oil to keep the hair looking wet, but I found it to be super messy to use. For the quick purposes of taking these photos, I just used water and a comb to create the wavy look in my hair. Overall, I think blue eyeshadow is a very romantic look and it’s a great way to experiment with color.
