Summer Style Ft. Jacquemus
Unlike some outfits that I strategically plan or style based on a specific trend that I’m obsessed with, this look came together very organically. Originally, I was planning on going to visit a friend in LA to go to the Melrose Flea Market when I threw this outfit on. This Wilfred linen wrap skirt (thrifted from Crossroads) is one of my favorite pieces to wear on the weekends and the red silk printed scarf is from my late grandmother’s collection. The scarlet color is very vibrant and the print features a charming cottages.
For accessories, I paired my look with my new Jacquemus La Boîte À Gateaux bag, wrapped with another vintage silk scarf on the handle, and my favorite white kitten heels.
Overall, the look is very simple yet romantic. Classically summery yet youthful. Though I ended up not going to the flea market that day, I decided to shoot this outfit at one of my favorite little local spots in Redondo Beach.
The Redondo Beach Museum is truly a hidden gem. I’ve taken pictures at the historical houses before and written about it here on my blog yet I know so many people, even locals, might not be familiar with this place. Typically, the yellow house is staffed by a very chatty tour guide who is always excited to share fun facts and tell stories about all the antiques scattered around the home. There’s a lot of history about my own neighborhood that I still don’t know much about.
With the surge of cottagecore, this place has served as the perfect backdrop for scenic and picturesque photo ops. With colorful rose gardens, a small orange orchid, and inviting park benches, this tiny park has been a great place to simply escape for a while.
In the late afternoon, I took all these photos myself using my trusty tripod. Though I do love taking pictures with friends, I don’t mind now going places to take photos on my own. It’s such a fun creative experience to capture images that embody a mood or narrative I envision in my mind. The creative process is what I live for and it brings me so much joy to share this piece of my world with you.
As always, thank you so much for reading! Do leave me any notes or questions in the comments section down below. I hope you are having a healthy and wonderful Summer. Until next time.
