DIY: Strawberry and Chamomile Cream Naked Cake
Spring is here which means the season calls for flavors like berries, chamomile, and cream.
This past weekend, I planned on visiting a friend for an outdoor picnic and I wanted to bake something special. I decided to try to make a Strawberry Chamomile Naked Cake by food blogger, Tieghan Gerard, creator of Half Baked Harvest. Overall, the cake was pretty easy to make. I made the cake and cream on Friday night and decorated the next day, but you could easily complete the recipe in just a few hours. Because I did my grocery shopping last minute, I wasn’t able to get any strawberries, so I decorated my cake with fresh lemon slices and raspberries. Next time I attempt this cake, I definitely want to get fresh strawberries and chamomile flowers to use for decorating. This recipe is so perfect for Spring and I feel like my cake just embodies joy.
Since I only had two cake tins to bake with, I used the extra batter to make cupcakes. These also turned out super cute and are perfect for your next Summer picnic. See the photo gallery below for my full baking process.
