Farm to Table: Our Place
Hi Friends!
Lately, my Sunday ritual consist of visiting my local farmer’s market and meal prepping. It wasn’t that long ago that I used to live off of frozen Trader Joe’s meals for lunch and though I still love all things Trader Joe’s, cooking from scratch has given me a greater appreciation for sourcing food, eating a little less wastefully, and the art of cooking itself.
A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to get an amazing package from Our Place, a cookware company that’s known for its versatility and cooking community. I picked out the Always Pan in Steam which is made to replace eight traditional pieces of cookware. The Always Pan includes a custom stainless steel steamer basket, nesting beechwood spatula, and lid covering. It’s really everything you need to do most typical methods of cooking.
My package also included a Spruce Steamer which I’m so excited to use to make dumplings, pork baos, and other dim sum related dishes. Lastly, Our Place also included the Fry Deck, a fairly new accessory that can be used to quickly drip dry foods on the side of the pan. Depending on your cooking ambitions, all of these accessories are not necessary to create delicious meals from home. The Always Pan is simply a great addition to anyone who loves to cook or is just getting started. As an added bonus, all the packaging these products came in are either recyclable or biodegradable.
For my meal prep this week, I decided to try out this recipe by Bon Appétit. Instead of shrimp, I ended up substituting ground pork and spicy chili tofu. Though I feel like my cooking skills have improved overall, I’m still constantly on the hunt to find better and more interesting meal prep recipes. If you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments section down below!
After my first go at it, cooking with the Always Pan was a true joy. It’s non-stick surface and deep body make it the perfect size and shape for cooking multiple foods at once. From the stay cool handle to the side spouts on each side of the pot, it’s clear that Our Place really thought of everything. I’m still trying to learn other cooking techniques that are more out of my comfort zone like braising and searing but I love that the Always Pan is built to make all these cooking methods as easy as possible.
Voila! Here is my meal prep for the week: brown sugar ground pork, crispy rice, spicy chili oil tofu, and Cara Cara oranges. Not bad if I don’t say so myself. Many thanks again to Our Place for these wonderful new cooking essentials!
Note, this blog post isn’t sponsored. All of the items featured here were gifted and I am not compensated in any way if you decide to make a purchase. This is just my honest opinion on using the Always Pan and it’s cookware accessories. If you have any questions about my experience, do let me know.
As always, thank you so much for reading my blog post and I hope you have a great week!
