How To Style: Boxer Shorts

How To Style: Boxer Shorts

Last month, I came across these shorts at Crossroads in Culver City. I saw them out of the corner of my eye and I was immediately drawn to them. All summer I’ve been seeing so many girls pair boxer shorts and bike shorts with classic button downs, crop tank tops, and vintage blazers. I love how to look blends masculinity and femininity so I decided to give these a go.

To my surprise, these shorts are by a Parisian brand called ALFIE. Built on the values of slow fashion, high quality, and small quantities, ALFIE is a new, consciously driven brand focused on not only creating clothes but also pushing a refreshingly stylish narrative. Inspired by menswear, ALFIE aims to create limited edition pieces that merge masculinity and femininity. The entire collection is timeless, modern, and refreshing.

As the tag says: “Be feminine the way you want”.

Needless to say, I was so excited by my thrift store find and have been wearing these shorts everywhere.

I styled my ALFIE shorts with a chocolate top by Meshki (thrifted), STAUD sandals, and JW PEI baguette bag.

Please forgive me, I did try to steam my shorts before taking these pics but all the back and forth made my shorts wrinkle. I think it adds a bit of personality. Who wears perfectly starched clothing anyways?

I also love how these shorts have pockets. I feel like they’re so perfect for wearing out to a farmers market or going to the beach. The pockets just give these shorts that extra stylish element that’s both functional and chic.

Thank you for reading! What sort of clothing do you find yourself drawn to lately? My past thrift hauls have been quite neutral and I realize I’m becoming more and more drawn to the practice of building a capsule wardrobe. I love trends and new clothes but there’s only so much space in my closet and overall, I think it’s better to be discerning consumer.

I’m sure my style will continue to evolve over time, but until then I still find thrifting to be a great way to discover new brands and styles. These shorts were such an amazing find and I can’t wait to see what ALFIE creates next.

xx
