Vintage Style: Creme Dress
This is where I’m the happiest: in a field of beautiful foliage, wearing a white vintage dress, under a blue sky. With Fall right around the corner, I’m already sadden by the earlier sunsets and cooler weather. I feel like I’ve already been living in my Fall-self since I’ve been knitting all Summer and for the most part, staying at home. Visiting places like this were a huge life to my spirit and a fun reason to get dressed up.
I’m wearing a dress I found at a local boutique store. It seemed slightly worn and out of shape but I loved the heavy weight of the fabric and low, adjustable back. It’s also a bit big for me so I love to add a silk scarf along the waist to add a bit of color and give the dress more shape. I am a huge fan of the #cottagecore aesthetic: puffed sleeves, flowy or ruffled dresses, square necklines, and over-the-top picnics. I love how the aesthetic pulls so much from fairytale imagery and glows with optimism.
I accessorized this look with hair pins I found at Daiso (basically like an Asian version of Dollar Tree), my kitten heels I found at Nordstrom Rack, and a vintage jewelry box I used as a purse. The beading of the jewelry box is so dainty and I feel like it’s an item that’s lost in time.
Thanks for reading! I’m hoping to have a new visual video out soon (*I’m currently stuck on a song selection). What were your favorite trends this Summer? Comment down below!
