January Playlist 🥝

Hello Friends!

I can’t believe two weeks have already passed by since my last blog post. With work in full swing and preparations for Lunar New Year coming up, I’ve been a very busy bee to say the least. Ever since I started using Spotify in college, I’ve been a huge fan of discovering new music and creating seasonal playlists. Personally, I love seeing people share their Spoify Wrapped for the year. Seeing someone’s preferred artists and genres reveals a deeper dimension to one’s true soul and connects us as fellow music lovers.

In college, I was really into Alternative music which typically all fell under the umbrella of hipster brands, coffee shop soundtracks, mellow EDM. According to Shopify, my top genre is Vapor Soul which Urban Dictionary defines as: “a vibey mixture of Deep House, Electronica, Indie Pop, Hip Hop, ChillStep, House, usually with some lofi aesthetic (but is far from a requirement) and filling you with a genuine and warm feeling of peace of mind.” Seems like a far stretch of a definition to me, but warm, positive vibes is how I’d describe my musical preferences as well.

So without further ado, here are some songs that I like to vibe with:

Every week, I religiously watch Saturday Night Live. It’s one of the few shows that I’ll actually make time to watch. This past week, I recently watched Måneskin perform Beggin’ (trust me, you know the song) and it was MINDBLOWING. From playing on the streets of Italy to winning Eurovision in 2021, Måneskin is a true example of supernova stardom. The energy of the band, the outfits, and stage performance is just pure magic. Even if you’re not a big fan of Rock & Roll like me, I think anyone would find this group electrifying.
