Beauty: Omayma Bedouin Elixir Facial Oil

Beauty: Omayma Bedouin Elixir Facial Oil

Nowadays, there’s a million and one beauty products for anything and everything. As much as I can get swept up in all the lavish packaging, branding, and hype, ultimately it all comes down to the product itself.

As a self-proclaimed beauty minimalist, skincare is at the forefront of my beauty ritual. I like to keep my skincare routine quick and simple using primarily clean beauty products.

Recently, I was lucky enough to connect with beauty guru Omayma Ramzy, who founded her own skincare brand called, Omayma. As an Egyptian Brit now living in LA, Omayma spent years working to perfect her Bedouin Elixir Facial Oil. By combining her love for clean, organic skincare with her Egyptian roots, Omayma developed the perfect facial oil that’s hydrating but not greasy, scented but not smelly, and gentle but effective.

First things first, this is NOT your ordinary facial oil. This formula is specially developed to help protect skin from LA’s hot weather and air pollution. Secondly, each drop contains sixteen hand-selected botanical oils which work in harmony to produce the most revitalizing effect. Here is a quick summary of the ingredients. For full details on the benefits of each ingredient click here.

  • Apricot Kernel Oil

  • Argan Oil

  • Avocado Oil

  • Blue Tansy Essential Oil

  • Camellia Oil

  • Grape Seed Oil

  • Hemp Seed Oil

  • Jasmine Essential Oil

  • Jojoba Oil

  • Lavender Essential Oil

  • Neem Oil

  • Neroli Essential Oil

  • Prickly Pear Seed Oil

  • Rose Essential Oil

  • Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil

  • Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

My skin type: I have dry and eczema prone skin. I’m lucky in the sense that my facial skin is relatively low maintenance. I rarely get any brake outs other than a pimple or two due to pms. My eczema tends to be seasonal and every so often I go to see a dermatologist if it gets too out of control. For the longest time, I was told to avoid scented products because it would inflame my eczema but what I’ve discovered is that lightly scented products are fine for daily use while heavily scented products are okay for me to use every so often.

Depending on your skin type you might want to use facial oil daily or alternate with another product. Keep in my your individual skincare needs :)

When it comes to incorporating Omayma Facial Oil into my skincare routine, in the evenings my line up consists of:

  • Cleanser: Tatcha’s Mini Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser

  • Toner: Rose Petal Facial Toner by Thayers

  • Moisturizer: Citrus-Honey Aqua Glow by Peach & Lily (I’ll be writing a separate blog post about this product and a few others soon!)

  • Lastly, I end my ritual with applying three drops of Omayma to lock everything in and sooth my skin for sleep. My favorite element of this formula is not only the non-greasy consistency but the SMELL. I have never gotten a proper facial before but this is what I image my skin would smell like after a professional facial. The scent is lightly botanical and clean. It’s what I look forward to the most when ending my skincare routine.

I definitely could go on about this product but for now, I’ll keep it short and sweet. Many thanks to Omayma Ramzy for reaching out and sharing your beautiful creation with me. Clean, vegan, and highly curated botanical formulas like Omayma’s are the future of minimalist skincare and I can’t wait to see what’s next in store.

PS: Omayma now comes in a mini trial size! Shop the mini here.
