A lot has happened since my last OOTD post featuring 'White on White'. The chunky style of the 90's is in full swing now and Gigi & Kyndall are taking over the world. On a day-today basis, not much has changed: I still wearing knitted high-waisted skirts and Free People sun dresses. But for those special occasions, this past year has proven to be one of my most daring year yet.
This is the year of one-pieces of all shapes and sizes: romper, jumpsuits, playsuits. Also, you might find more and more 90's apparel popping up on the streets of LA. In other words, almost any girl from the ages of 15-20 looks like she just walked out of a Brandy Melville catalogue with her velvet choker, high-waited cotton shorts, monotone snapback, and even glitter jelly shoes. So yea, that's a thing now. Overalls have also been making a comeback as well.
It's not that my look is different by any means. To be different often means that I bring a certain level of weirdness to my look, which by LA standards, I don't in this case. But as the days go by this summer, I hope to develop a new style that still reflects who I am.
Lately, I've been thinking about going blonde. So what's holding me back you might ask? Well, it $$$. It can cost easily a couple hundred dollars to go from deep brown to pastel blonde; not to mention all the maintenance and cost of hair products. For the most part, I'm a low maintenance girl. When I actually do my hair, it's for a special occasion and I use less than 8 beauty products on the daily. So we'll see...
Look: Inspired by floral textures and pastel undertones. Don't be afraid to mix combines textures together. You can never go wrong with a mix of white, lacey textures. Top it off with a petal pink lip and your good to #slay
