As she wandered through the corridors of the home, she watched the rays of light beams danced on the perfectly white carpet and eggshell walls. She was blissfully alone in her own world. Even though the sky was blue, it was soon disrupted by the ocean haze rolling in from the West. What a perfect day to play dress up.

This photo diary is inspired by beams of natural light, excessive amounts of eyeshadow, the iconic choker, and random film grain. Style inspiration came from Penny Lane's look in Almost Famous and Kristina Bazan's iconic bangs. When I first saw Almost Famous, I was nearly convinced that I wanted to be a groupie. To me, groupies were like beautiful, musical gypsies. But that was before I learned that groupies also tend to have a lot of loss sex and that's just not on my bucket list.

There's something about black. Black clothes. Black cars. Black night sky. They all evoke a sense of mystery and class, don't you think?

My monolid has never been my favorite feature. Call me self-conscious, but in a world up surrounded by Western beauty, I never thought my eyes were particularly beautiful. It wasn't until recently that I started to actually embrace my Asian-ness. After all, beauty comes in all kinds of shapes and colors. To this day, to this moment, I will never be as young again as I am right now.
