Four Seasons tea house with Grandmother
Dress: LF Hat: UO Bag: Longchamp
With George Ezra's voice transporting me to another world, I can see the high afternoon sun casting long shadows of my house over the backyard. Finally Spring is here. I do love Fall and Winter since it gives me an excuse to wear long sweaters, knee-high socks, and suede boots, but there's something about Spring that makes the sky look reborn.
Granted, my birthday is during Spring, so of course I'd feel a natural connection to the season. Near my home, there's a park on a hillside overlooking a large dog park. Every year, that hillside bursts into purple blooms that spread across the entire grounds. It almost looks like a small field of flowers that most people probably categorize as weeds. But to me, wildflowers can be just as beautiful as roses. After about a couple of weeks, the flowers are gone and the hill returns to its normal form of dirt and bushes.
Spring is the season of renewal. It represents the final haul for students finishing up their second semester and for many couples its prime wedding season. But besides all that, Spring is the best time of year for high tea.
When I was little, I was lucky enough to have the most enchanting birthday parties. One of them being a high tea party at a local tea house with all my friends. We all wore sun dresses and my mother and I made sun hats for each guest. It was a wonderful party that any girl would be lucky enough to have. Ever since then, I treasure all the times I get to have tea with loved ones. There's something wonderful about sitting down and sharing stories over tea and scones. People who know me best would say that its not just about the tea, but rather, about 'the principle of the thing'. The 'thing' referring to the actual experience of setting aside time for someone.
During our day and age, money is important, but when you can devote time to someone else, that truly is the best form of appreciation.
