Part 1: The Art of being Superficial

As I applied iridescent shades of blue onto my eye lids, I could see my inner mermaid starting to peek out. Spring Break came a went....and as I

Having a blog seemed like a perfectly acceptable reason to constantly posting pictures of myself-usually in full make-up wearing things that only look good in pictures. So to makeup for such superficial content, I vowed to always provide commentary behind my posts.

In my last post, I discussed the conflict of interests bloggers and other internet stars have when creating content. On one hand, we want content that creates likes and shares; but on the other hand, we should aspire to create content that is honest, relatable, and inspiring.

As Lady Gaga has said regarding social media, "We are unconsciously communicating lies". It's really easy to do this. Naturally, we want to put our best foot forward and we want people to see us in the best light possible, but how far are we willing to go to manipulate how other view us?

As a blogger, it's easy to be swept up in the glimmering lifestyle. It's easy to see what others have and aspire to have the same. But there's more to blogging than just showing off all the lifestyle, so I aspire to share with you all the other beautiful facets of my life.

Part 2: #Mood Playlists

I've been obsessed with FOOLS by Troye Sivan since last winter. There's something about the soul in his voice and the haunting gaze in his eyes that makes his music incredibly emotional.

I'm a little late on the bandwagon, but The 1975 is perfect mood music for long drives into LA; especially, on those hazy April mornings when it seems as though the sun is going to lay low for the day. My favorite songs from their album is Somebody Else and Lostmyhead.

Also, hit up Kygo's new single, Raging and...

Throwback hit of the week: Bittersweet Symphony.

Part 3: Countdown to 21

Drinking has never been of high interest to me; rather, the act of going out and being social is an art in itself I have yet to master. I suppose I've always aspired to be a social butterfly: someone who just exudes outgoing confidence and fearlessness of the haters. But that's just not me---at least not consistently.

As the days to my 21st birthday creep up on me, I'm forced to think up some celebratory event. Most girls choose to go bar hoping, clubbing in Vegas, or some combination of the two, but I don't think that's how I want it go down. All this time in college, beer seemed to be seeping out of the walls, and as a girl, I could walk into any frat house and drink as much as I wanted. But I didn't. The options were there, but I just chose not too.

Beauty Tip: Stay lovely, stay grateful.

Call me a straightedge or a party pooper, but I just always believed that there are other ways to turn up than get wasted. More often than not, alcohol seems to cause more trouble than its worth. Now it's fine to drink responsibly (go be merry!), but sometimes things can go bad faster than they can get better. That's just my take on things, if you have any thoughts, comment down below!

Thanks for reading! New posts coming soon this summer (especially once finals are over)!

Blue is my favorite color.
