The psychoanalysis behind getting bangs.
There's a long drawn out series of thoughts that girls go through when they're looking into getting a haircut. Usually, there are five types of girls:
- Conservative: She only wants exactly two-three inches cut off. No more, no less.
- Daring: She's dyed her hair so many different colors that she doesn't remember what her natural hair color even is.
- Predictable: She's had the same hair cut by the same stylist since she was five.
- Seasonal: She gets a hair cut about once a year just to change it up a bit.
- Trendy: She brings in a picture of her favorite celeb (i.e Taylor Swift) for reference for her new look.
As for me, I'm definitely a combination of Seasonal and Trendy; though I've also been conservative and predicable in the past. If you go really far back in my blog, you'll notice that I used to have long hair. Then I chopped it off and donated it to Pantene. Ever since, I love having short hair, it's low maintenance, way cooler on the neck, and lighter overall.
Hair is an extremely personal process, but hair cuts are usually a bigger deal than they should be. After all, hair does grow back. When I decided to get bangs I literally googled search half a dozen times just to find a style that I thought would reflect my face shape and ideal hair length. Jordan Dunn and Emma Stone's short bobs were some of my favorite inspirations.
I ended up getting a Groupon for Lux Aveda Salon and making a last min appointment with Alex. Overall, I was really happy with the results.
