From the voice of one Millennial to another

It's clear to see that I am not famous by any means. It would take a scandal or some kind of viral uproar for fame to come my way. Regardless of whether or not you consider yourself famous, our generation, The Millennials, are.

So maybe none of us are at the point of breaking the internet like Kim Kardashian; nevertheless, we are at a point where personal privacy is nearly nonexistent and the term viral isn't referring to an actual virus. With apps like Snapchat lives-streaming our stories and the stories of our fellow Millennials around the world, social globalization is no longer our future, it's our present.

It was only a couple of years ago that Facebook was our social drug. Highschoolers flocked to update and upload as much personal rubbish as we believed would make us look cool. At the same time, we tweeted pictures of our fraps just to make sure people knew that we had gotten our daily dose of Starbucks. #Basic

Anyone can see your likes, dislikes, favorites, music you listened to on Spotify, and even your location. Did I mention selfies? Ya, those are a thing. We are a shamelessly vain generation. And with countless numbers of selfies, the art of photoshopping slowly comes to rise. Not everyone Photoshops, but occasionally some do. After all, everyone gets a zit now and then. But with Photoshop comes an altered sense of reality and beauty. I suppose that alone is a discussion for another time.

With style savvy instagrammers vying for likes and a celebrity's tweet just a favorite away, we are no longer a nobody. Anyone could become a somebody even if it's just overnight. In fact, in case you haven't heard, being original is actually cool now. AKA being true to yourself is not only encouraged, it's socially praise-able.

In case your wondering what's the point of all these observations (or maybe you already knew all of this and I'm just preaching to a wall), it's that while we should be cautious about the easy accessibility to everything online, once we go online, there's no, going off. We are growing up with the Internet as our spotlight. For some the limelight will be a glorious moment. But all great moments come at a cost; of course, you didn't need me to tell you that.

So for now, tune in, like, share, comment, and embrace the white noise.

But most of all, embrace the now and always be young at heart.
